Joseph Zobian, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist. His
specialties include cataract surgery, pterygium surgery, glaucoma
surgery and many laser surgeries.

Dr. Zobian was born in San Francisco, California. The family
eventually settled in Reading, Pennsylvania, where most still reside.

Educated almost completely in Pennsylvania, Dr. Zobian received
his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University and served
his residency in ophthalmology at the esteemed
Wills Eye Hospital in
Philadelphia.

After residency, the Zobian family moved to Florida, where Dr.
Zobian served a year of fellowship at the University of Florida before
joining a private practice in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The Zobian family moved to Hawaii in 2003 so they could be closer
to the Philippines.
After college graduation, Dr. Zobian joined the United States Peace
Corps as a Volunteer. He was assigned to the Philippine Islands,
where he served as an agricultural forestry specialist in the province
of Zambales. It was during this time that he learned to speak some
Tagalog and Ilokano and met his wife, Fritza.

Dr. Fritza Zobian is an ophthalmologist trained at the University of
Santo Tomas in Manila. She is currently managing the Zobian Eye
Clinic and together they have performed surgical missions in the
poorer areas of the Philippines.

Dr. Zobian's father,
Edward Zobian, M.D., is also an ophthalmologist
and a committed missionary surgeon, having performed thousands
of free cataract surgeries for the poor of the Philippines.
